Coaching and practice for the various competitive team sports, individual sports and other activities occur off-campus under the supervision of experienced and qualified staff. Our teams compete at local, regional and international levels, while intramural sports are organised by the House Captains under the supervision of the House Masters and the Sports Director. I have been in the field of sports since 1983 and joined The Lyceum in 2002 as a Sports coach. Over the years, I have worked with hundreds of students, training them, along with my team of dedicated and experienced coaches, to compete in inter-school and provincial sporting events.
We have participated in and won tournaments across a number of sports, including basketball, football, cricket, track and field, rowing, table tennis, tennis, netball, throwball, swimming and badminton. We look forward to working with students who share our passion and the desire to learn and grow in whichever sport they choose. Whether you are a beginner, picking up a sport for the first time or someone who has been playing throughout their school years, we have different training levels and practice sessions to cater to all skill sets.
In the two years that students spend with us, we work on their skills and abilities both on and off the court. We work with principles of compassion, honesty, integrity, collaboration and determination. And that is the hallmark and cornerstone of a Lyceum sports team player.
Over the years, I am proud to say that our girls and boys teams have done exceptionally well. We hold regular weekly practices at grounds like PAD Ground and Neighbourhood Park, where we spend hours preparing our students for various tournaments across Karachi and other cities in Pakistan.
My team and I look forward to welcoming future generations of Lyceumites and in sharing their goals, vision and passion in continuing the legacy our students have built at The Lyceum since we first opened our doors in 1987.
